Proms in Haggerston Park, 18 August 2007

The Shoreditch Festival is a free, 2 week summer festival. This year’s 45 events bring together the communities of Shoreditch, and give the many local groups, businesses, schools, artists and individuals an opportunity to become involved in the regeneration of Shoreditch.

The Festival ends majestically with the fabulous free Proms in Haggerston Park event on Saturday 18 August. When, we’re delighted to announce, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing us out with an open-air programme that includes Capriccio Italian, Violin Concerto, Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, March Slav and, of course, the 1812 Overture fireworks finale.

Und bei selbigem Konzert war ich mit ein paar DILern (Irina, Tim, Rainer, Christine, Simone und wie sie alle heissen) - 'Picnic in the Park' im strömenden Regen. War trotzdem witzig, und gegen später war der Park tatsächlich gut besucht, ein Meer von Kapuzen und Schirmen. Und alles umsonst, inklusive Feuerwerk!
